Anything you do online can be automated with UBot Studio
October 28th 2018 will go down as the day I joined the UBot revolution.
After years of programming the hard way, I came across UBot Studio, and after initial scepticism of their marketing pledge that I can “Automate common tasks and boost my internet marketing potential. Anything you do online can be automated with UBot Studio”, I decided to bite the bullet and see if this was true.
Being a global digital marketer and award-winning web dev my first thoughts were how can I build a web bot that can work for ME! After all, I do the work for everyone else and this, as any good marketer and dev will tell you who has many clients, can sap your time up rather fast.
Anything that could make that process easier certainly was 100% worth looking at.
I had a couple of things to figure out at this point, how to work UBot in the first instance and then to figure out the many manual tasks I do day to day and see if I could automate any of them with the help of a bot.
Some people cringe at the mere mention of a bot, however the bot’s I am talking about here are simply tools that can help you make your life easier.
Working in the digital space, a bot can be instantly viewed as invoking the dark side to do your willing, however this is simply not the case!
An internet bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply bot, is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone.
There are 3 editions of UBot Studio, the standard, professional and developer edition.
Your choice of edition really does depend on what you are wanting to do when it comes to building web bots and the budget you are willing to work with.
Standard gives you the latest version of UBot Studio, 3 months of expert support (and their support is top tree folks), updates for 3 months and 3 months access to the Bot Bank!
This comes with unlimited access to the UBot Network which is a great forum that has a wealth of knowledge, help, code etc.
Professional is advertised as the best value UBot Studio as it does pack in a host of features for a great price.
UBot Studio Professional comes with all of the featured mentioned in the standard version, but with a lot more under the hood.
With the Professional edition you can also work with flash and more with the advanced image recognition to studio has at your disposal. This is a great feature that is way ahead of its time in being able to recognise flash elements on a page and be able to create an action against it.
You can also use socket commands and SQL integration with your automations.
Couple this with being able to run unlimited browsers at the same time and even being able to access the code view of the bot you are building for quick editing, you really are investing in a powerhouse of a program.
For me, I opted for the Developer edition of UBot Studio as it has given me all the features of Standard and Pro versions along with the ability of being able to create self extracting installation packages should I wish to distribute any of my creations to clients or even to sell.
All editions of the software come with a 30 day money back guarantee so you simply can’t lose folks!
UBot Studio runs on Windows, and being on a Mac myself, I set up a clean VM and downloaded and installed UBot Studio without any issues whatsoever.
Within 2 hours of owning UBot Studio I had watched a few of the official UBot videos, figured out the basics and built my first ever bot.
It was a simple bot that navigated to a choice of Google, Yahoo or Bing, paused, added a keyword or phrase and searched.
Then it scraped the first page of the chosen search engine and returned all URL’s listed and saved them as a text file for me.
Whilst this is a bot in its most simple terms and one that I used as a test bed, the fact I had UBot Studio figured out in a couple of hours and had something that worked, it spurred me on to delve further under the hood and start developing more software that can help me automate some of my daily repetitive tasks.
At the time of writing this article, I am 2 weeks into using UBot Studio and I am just finishing off a marketing bot that allows me to manage and track my social media accounts, identify my top connectors by tracking daily interactions I have with them, and help me find influencers in my niche, and produce a “to connect with” list so I can head off and personally connect with them. Previously this work could take me hours manually.
People reading this article may wonder if it really is simple to use UBot Studio. Even with limited or no programming experience, I can tell you it is. My 14 year old daughter can vouch for this!
She is currently being taught HTML in school and was able to replicate the bot I created quickly and easily when I asked her to give it a go.
UBot Studio brings programming to your fingertips without the know how or steep learning curve associated with learning a programming language.
Has UBot Studio changed the way I work? …..Completely!!
Would I recommend UBot Studio? …..Completely!!
